|Quality Assurance Manager||BS or BA in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or other science discipline. Minimum of five years of experience in quality control management. SQF practitioner, or equivalent experience with SQF 2000 or other GFSI certification scheme. Physically able to move about in a production and lab environment. Must have visual acuity to evaluate sample appearance and use lab instruments. Must demonstrate taste and aroma sense acuity. Must report to any AFF facility according to company need, sometimes with same-day notice.||The Quality Assurance Manager manages the Quality Control Department at all AFF facilities. The position is ultimately responsible for all product quality and for the development, implementation, and administration of the documentation system necessary to maintain a controlled manufacturing process. The manager organizes and staffs AFF Quality Control Departments, conducting employee performance evaluations and assigning projects to the QC staff. The manager must ensure that QC and all applicable staff are trained on Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and provided with sufficient resources to do their jobs. The manager stays current with quality management technique and analytical technology, applying this knowledge to the cost-effective operation of the department. Responsible for all 3rd party audit programs and activities, including but not limited to scheduling, preparing for and participating in audits and any related certification process. Responsible for all customer complaint issues, resolutions and supplier rating/approval related to AFF’s Supplier Approval Program. Maintains a working relationship with inter-and intra-company departments such as Customer Service, Analytical, Production, and R & D regarding resources, production and product development and quality. Assists customers with product issues or technical questions. This position serves as SQF Practitioner and back up to the Vice President of Technical Services, QC Supervisor, and HACCP Coordinator when necessary.||This position has 2 plants, East LA and Pacoima. |Production Planner||High School Diploma plus some courses in math above algebra. Good at mathematical calculations. Good English communication skills. Proficient with computer software programs.||Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of production, in association with production supervision. Must meet shipping dates required by customers daily orders. Work with Quality Control to verify formulas for production. Provide production schedules for Production and Quality Control. Confer daily with Production Supervisor to determine status of assigned production. Prepare daily purchase requisitions to obtain materials. Provide shipping/Receving with pull sheet of needed raw materials for next day production. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.||This location is located in Los Angeles|
|Technical Document Specialist||AA degree or higher in food science, business administration, paralegal, or technical writing or equivalent; excellent English grammar and spelling. Minimum of two years of experience with manufacturing document control/processes preferred Two years of experience with food industry quality control and quality assurance practices and systems. Experience with R&D and Quality Lab documents is a plus. Proficient with MS Office Suite; experience creating spreadsheets. Very organized with the ability to take charge of and complete projects.||The focus of the position is to respond to customer inquiries regarding AFF quality systems. The position must understand food law, federal regulations and requirements of regulatory agencies (Federal, State, and other), as well as third-party and customer auditors. The position must understand how these requirements apply to the Company operations, after evaluating Company practices, procedures and documentation in light of those requirements. Should have a complete understanding of compliance requirements for the company. |Maintenance Manager||Must have a skilled working knowledge of all maintenance crafts and trades with a high degree of skill and knowledge in the performance of at least one craft or trade. Must be able to read, write and speak English to perform administrative tasks. Must have excellent math skills, including knowledge of algebra and geometry and the ability to convert fractions into decimals and vice-versa. Must have strong electrical knowledge. Must have excellent computer skills.||The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the day to day functions to assure the overall success and productivity of the maintenance department. The Maintenance Manager is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of all company-owned property. This position requires skilled working knowledge of all maintenance crafts and trades with a high degree of knowledge in many of these trades (i.e. welding, electrical, PLC programming). The Maintenance Manager is the main database administrator for the CAMS maintenance program with responsibilities including the addition of new equipment into the system, entering new & revising existing preventive maintenance tasks, and analyzing data within the system to form conclusions about equipment, personnel, and departmental performance. This position acts as departmental training coordinator; ensures departmental knowledge level remains consistent with industry standards and conducts training to achieve this level of knowledge. Responsible for the quality of maintenance performed company-wide and conducts follow-up inspections of completed work as a means to monitor the level of quality and the following of safety guidelines. Works with the Project Manager and Facilities Engineer to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner. May develop, and be responsible for the planning, procurement, and execution of interdepartmental or assigned projects. Must exhibit leadership skills. Must have excellent math and computer skills.
