General Description of Duties

We’re looking for a high-performing Account Executive to take ownership of a defined territory and portfolio of accounts. The Account Executive (AE) leverages a consultative sales approach combined with technical food science expertise to build and nurture relationships within assigned territories and accounts. This role is responsible for managing the entire sales process—from identifying new opportunities to executing projects in alignment with customer expectations. The AE works closely with customers to understand their unique needs and collaborates with internal R&D teams (including chemists) to deliver tailored solutions. Success in this role requires a strong customer focus, technical acumen, and the ability to drive projects to completion. Due to the sensitive nature of this role, the Account Executive will have access to highly confidential business information. It is critical that all such information is handled with the utmost discretion and is not shared beyond the scope of your direct responsibilities. Disclosure to other senior managers or external parties is strictly prohibited unless prior, explicit approval is granted by your reporting manager.


Essential Job Functions

  1. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve year-over-year revenue growth within assigned accounts and territory.
  2. Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business and account expansion.
  3. Engage proactively with both technical and business stakeholders to understand customer needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  4. Represent the company with integrity and professionalism at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
  5. Leverage deep knowledge of company capabilities to identify and pursue new leads and sales opportunities.
  6. Partner with R&D teams to co-develop solutions aligned with customer requirements and project timelines.
  7. Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with internal teams and external clients.
  8. Manage the complete sales lifecycle—from prospecting and proposal development to closing and post-sale support.
  9. Stay current on market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments to enhance customer interactions.
  10. Travel extensively (50%+), including visits to customer sites and other locations as needed to support business objectives.
  11. Demonstrate consistent, punctual attendance and reliability in all aspects of the role.


Requirements

  1. B.A. or B.S. Degree preferably in food science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum three years of strategic sales experience.
  3. Strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
  4. Strong communication skills, with good written and verbal English skills.
  5. Must have a valid driver’s license and an automobile in good working order, with insurance limits that meet company requirements.
  6. Must report to any company facility according to company need, sometimes with same-day notice.
