General Description of Duties

Seeking a motivated and purpose driven Flavor Trainee or Apprentice with prior experience in flavor compounding. The candidate will support and learn the process of flavor creation and development while working closely with an experienced flavor chemist on active projects. This role involves laboratory work, flavor formulation, sensory evaluation, and continuous technical learning based on the science and art of flavor creation.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Ability to compound simple to complex formulas with speed and accuracy while maintaining lab safety and proper PPE.
  2. Assist in developing liquid blends, emulsions, and spray-dried flavors. Basic flavor modifications with substitution of raw materials, diluents, or attribute changes.
  3. Operate equipment associated with flavor development, and analysis for flavor quality and uniformity. Follow formulation protocols for flavor delivery systems.
  4. Keep detailed records of formulations, sensory tests, and lab activities.
  5. Manage raw materials, restock supplies, and maintain a clean, safe lab environment. Support the maintenance of flavor materials and finished flavors.
  6. Creation of technical documentation as needed.



What You Bring

  1. A BS in Food Science, Chemistry , or a related field.
  2. 1–3 years of direct experience in a flavor lab or product development setting.
  3. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  4. A collaborative spirit and a passion for learning.


Physical Requirements:

  1. Able to lift 25 lbs. occasionally.
  2. Comfortable working in a lab/production environment.
  3. Mobility to stand, walk, bend, and climb as needed.
