Production Planner II

General Description of Duties

The Production Planner Level II is expected to have mastered all responsibilities of the Production Planner Level I role. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules based on customer orders, sales forecasts, and inventory requirements. The PP Level II will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient production planning. Success in this role requires strong multitasking abilities, excellent organizational skills, and the capacity to perform in a fast-paced environment. Responsible for contributing to the efficient and profitable operation of the company. This individual must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in ways that foster good relationships with clients, co-workers and supervisors, while achieving and enhancing performance standards.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Providing timely delivery of daily, weekly, and/or monthly production plans while adhering to planning best practice methodology.
  2. Providing proactive communication with key personnel to ensure adherence to schedule and processes.
  3. Collaborating with personnel to develop plan of action for shortages, scheduled and unscheduled downtime, etc. to ensure high customer service.
  4. Responsible for providing product availability information to customer service via work order status.
  5. Resolve discrepancies related to inventory, scheduling, and production by collaborating closely with all areas of Operations.
  6. Manage daily tasks including reviewing shortage alerts, troubleshooting production issues, and maintaining clear communication with team members.
  7. Provide detailed production plans to both Production and Quality Control departments.
  8. Generate purchase requisitions for raw materials and packaging supplies as needed and maintain accurate packaging inventory levels.
  9. Supply the Shipping/Receiving department with pull sheets for required raw materials for next-day production.
  10. Must have regular, punctual attendance. 
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing production planning.
  2. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  3. Experience with ERP software is required.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  6. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  7. Capable of identifying issues, developing solutions, and implementing them successfully.
  8. Exceptional attention to detail.
  9. Positive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Excellent multitasking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  11. Must report to any company facility according to company need, sometimes with same-day notice.

Compensation Range: Actual salary/hourly wages are determined upon a variety of factors such as level of experience, skills, education and /or certifications, and location.
